London Programme

Meetings are currently CANCELLED due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
Meetings will resume once government restrictions are lifted and we are confident in meeting safely.

The programme below though out of date is left as an example of what we present at our meetings prior to the pandemic. We look forward to welcoming you to similar meetings in the future.

We are currently meeting Virtually – Online on a weekly basis, presenting 3D images and 3D Videos and discussing anything 3D related.

Meetings held at St Pancras Church Hall, Lancing Street, NW1 1NA

Visitors are most welcome.

October 12th 2019:

November 9th 2019:
Host: Mike Hillyard

(A) Members Digital image competition; please send 3 images to Mike Hillyard by 28th October and the audience will judge the winner. Image title should be in the format Name_ImageTitle_1, Name_ImageTitle_2 and Name_ImageTitle_3.
Entries are very welcome FROM MEMBERS, whether attending the meeting or not, but please don’t submit images that have previously appeared in the Society’s Annual Competition or The Third Dimension Society’s Annual Exhibition.

(B)  Third Dimension Society Exhibition Entries and winning images in this year’s competition will be projected.

December 14th 2019:

Host: Geoff Hallett

An afternoon of displays and demonstrations, to socialise and discuss all things 3D.
Please bring 3D images – prints or slides, 3D viewers – ancient or modern, 3D computer systems, 3D phones or tablets, anything 3D that you can think of.
So far we have offers of a demonstration of SmartPhone 3D from Mary Paul, and a 3D VR Flight simulator from Geoff Hallett for you to have ago.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the launch of the View-Master viewers with their familiar circular reels of seven 3D images. Please bring a selection of viewers and reels you are happy to put on display for others to have a look at, especially anything unusual.
Of special interest will be personal image reels produced by members using the View-Master cameras.
Jeff Finegold will bring his View-Master camera and projector and a small 4ft screen to demonstrate some of his personal reels.
Please bring some View-Master reels you would like to see projected, or any sales or swapsies.
There will be a longer than usual interval in order to enjoy some festive refreshments; donations of refreshments gratefully accepted.
There will not be the usual large audience digital 3D projection,
but our 3D monitor and laptop will be available to display any digital images that you bring along.


January 11th 2020:

A full afternoon of 3D Projection of members 3D AV and 3D Video shows on the theme of “Engineering”.
Please send your completed videos to Mike Hillyard by December 20th.

February 8th 2020:
Host: David Burder – The Annual Show and Tell

Come along with your latest gadgets, ideas of anything 3D. Presentations limited to 5 minutes.

March 14th 2020;
Host: Colin Metherell

(A) My favourite images, including creative images and videos.
Please send your images and shows to Mike Hillyard by 1st March.

(B)  a presentation by Geoff Hallett entitled “15 miles to Christmas”

(C) a presentation of 3D videos by master 3D creator John Hart, an ISU member
